MEDIUM PURPOSE
For the cultivation of Escherichia coli.
PREPARATION
Suspend 46.0g in 1L of purified water.Heat with frequent agitation and boil to completely dissolve the powder. Dispense and autoclave at 121℃ for 20minutes.
PRINCIPLE
Tryp tone and yeast extract provide carbon source, nitrogen source, vitamins and minerals; sodium chloride maintains balanced osmotic pressure. Agar as a solidifying agent.
